Viking Camp Mission Statement
To educate, empower and entertain youth, adults, and families from all walks of life with equal emphasis on individual accomplishment and teamwork.
Viking Camp Vision Statement
To provide a safe and fun environment for the hands-on education and personal growth of youth, adults, and families, to encourage the study of history and one’s own heritage, and to teach appreciation and care for the local environment and respect for its indigenous peoples.
The current goal is to start the first camp in June 2025!
Viking Camp will need Part-time and Volunteer:
On The Water Instructors
Aquatic Sports Instructors (Sailing/ Rowing/ Paddling/ Swimming)
ASA or US Sail certified sailing instructors
Youth sailing instructors
Off The Water Instructors
Crafting Instructors (Woodworking/ Painting/ Design/ Metal braiding for making jewelry/ Leather working/ Leather stamping/ Woodcarving/ Old Norse runic writing instruction, etc)
Guest Speakers
Viking Camp welcomes all who wish to share their knowledge. Subjects may include, but are not excluded to;
Boat building - modern and historical
Sailing and Navigation - modern and historical
Scandinavian History
Local environment and history
Indigenous peoples - to teach us about the land and waters where we will be located, and it's people
Various Cultural Experts
Administrative Staff
Program Manager
Community Outreach Coordinator
All crewmembers will be required to have current WA state 1st aid/ CPR Cards, and must submit to a background check and driving record check
Boat crews will also be required to hold current Washington Boater Safety Education Cards
